NEIL LENNON was asked about the possibility of the club trying to re-sign Victor Wanyama in January at today’s AGM.

The Celtic manager sat alongside board members, share  holders and Peter Lawwell as they were all grilled about on and off the field issues.

When it came to the January window, Neil Lennon was asked about Wanyama and if there was a possibility of the Kenyan coming back to the club.

Here was his response:

“For a player like Wanyama, availability and affordability. Would I like Wanyama in the building? Of course.” Neil Lennon told shareholders as cited by Recordsport.

“But it may not be an area we are looking to add to because of the way the midfield is functioning.

“We are looking in the forward area. It may be the one area we are looking strengthen.”

Wanyama is out of favour at Tottenham and will likely move on from the London club in January but from what Neil Lennon is saying, it’s not likely the club can afford him and if they could there’s better ways to spend the money.

Wanyama would be a terrific signing but it’s right the Celtic boss tempers expectations ahead of the window opening in just over a months time. It looks like another striker might be coming into the club.
