Celtic manager Neil Lennon has admitted that Sunday’s game against Hibernian will be a tough one, but the squad are ready to go.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Lennon knows the threat that the Edinburgh side can possess having managed several of the players during his time in the capital. Still, despite them being on top form, the hoops will be ready for the test ahead.
“Sunday will be a tough game, and Hibs will be buoyed by a good performance and a very good result last weekend. They’ve made a great start to the season, they’re playing with a lot of confidence, and Sunday is a game that’s now at the forefront of our minds.
“It was our immediate focus after the Riga game and were looking at analysis on the plane on the way home from Latvia. It’ll be a tough game.
“We’re in the match rhythm now, we’ve freshened up the team as we’ve gone along, and that’s what we want, we want the games. The players will do a second day recovery on Saturday, and then they’ll get ready for the game again on Sunday, and between times it’s about showing them the strengths and weaknesses of Hibs.”
After picking up a good result last week and having a whole week to prepare, Hibs will undoubtedly be up for this game on Sunday.
Even though Celtic will be favourites going into the game, the hoops will need to be at their best to take the three points home, as the away side look dangerous this season.
