NEIL LENNON gave Celtic fans a positive injury update ahead of the Glasgow Derby this weekend but one thing which has seemed to be lost among the good news is the fact Celtic’s newest full time striker has suffered a new blow in his quest for first team game time.

Vakoun Bayo has been desperate to impress the interim boss and recently went away with the Ivory Coast under 23 side during the international break to get some game time under his belt. However, in doing so, Neil Lennon has confirmed the striker has come back with a groin strain.

A groin strain can keep you out from around two weeks to six weeks depending on the severity of the strain. This is not good news for Bayo who has only seen around three minutes of top flight game time since signing in January.

A combination of trying to get match fit along with the managerial upheaval have played their part in the striker not settling in as well as he would have liked to this point.

It looks like Bayo will have to wait a little bit longer.
