Celtic boss Neil Lennon has been warned by ex Hoops player Mark Wilson about a possible ‘them and us’ situation developing within the dressing room after his comments yesterday about the players.

As quoted by the Daily Record, speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard Wilson warned of a possible split between the dressing room and  Lennon himself after he mentioned that several unnamed players had let him down this season, which is something the Northern Irishman needs to be extremely careful of if he doesn’t want to cause a further fall from grace.

“The players do have to take responsibility.

“However, I think coming in and being as critical as he was there, I don’t know if that’s the right way of going about it.

“It sounds like there is a bit of ‘them and us’ going on at Celtic. A divide between the coaching staff as and the players, and I don’t think it should be like that.

“I think it should be a collective. I do think the players are underperforming, but I also think the coaching staff are underperforming also.

“I thought that was clear today as well but it does seem to be that it’s players fault and Neil is clearly pointing to it.”

Within the club, they may not want to admit it but it is clear that Lennon has now lost the dressing room which is a clear sign for any manager that their time is up.

Over the last couple of years, we have seen what these players are capable of winning trophy after trophy. So they don’t just become bad overnight.

Something is seriously wrong at the club right now and has been for months. The change of the management is something that should have come long before now but somehow as we speak, Lennon is still in his position.

If he doesn’t go anytime soon, this feels like it’s only going to get worse, not better.

  1. Am I the only one who thinks this all stems from the appointment of Gavin Strachan? It seemed like the unity was just fine until that Shane McGowan lookalike rocked up.
Not saying Lenny shouldn’t go, of course he should it’s getting beyond parody now, but I think we might have been in a better position without Strachan.

  2. What a roasting we all have slippy G when he threw his team under the bus practically after every game last season, the fact that Lenny can’t see this is beyond belief!
Gerrard’s a rookie, making rookie mistakes, Lennon’s a seasoned manager.
It really is man management 101!
