Days after completing the singing of former Celtic star Adam Matthew for Omonia, Neil Lennon has gone back to the Scottish football well and signed Ibrox flop and former Hibs winger Brandon Barker.

The Irishman delivered cup in his first season with the Cypriot side and is looking to build on things by bringing in players he knows well.

Barker and Neil Lennon both worked together at Hibernian and that’s probably where the winger played his best football. A two and a half year stint at Rangers was a disaster for the player who scored three goals and mustered less than 20 Scottish Premiership appearances.

It’s interesting to see what Neil Lennon will do next, I doubt he’s finished looking in markets he knows well and if he can pick up a free transfer or bargain, there could be more players who used to play in Glasgow heading to Cyprus.

After winning a cup against the odds, the club appear to be backing Neil Lennon well and the fans are certainly buying in.

The Irishman’s time at Celtic came to a sad end during the disastrous lockdown season. The manager lost control of everything and added fuel to the fire at most points. Many supporters wanted to see Neil leave much earlier than he did.

It took the former Celtic midfielder a long time to get back into the game but now he’s back, he’s looking to rebuild.
