SITTING in the Sky Sports Studio yesterday, former Celtic target and Hibs star John McGinn gave an insight into how Neil Lennon goes about challenging Celtic.

Neil Lennon has been a constant thorn in the side of Brendan Rodgers since Hibs were promoted, Celtic have only won once at Easter Road in the last six attempts.

While in the studio, McGinn told how Lennon used to tell the Hibs players to ‘target’ Mikael Lustig.

Many teams have identified Lustig as a potential chink in the armour under the right circumstances.

However, that wasn’t the plan yesterday with Lustig out injured. With Celtic playing a back three Neil Lennon chose to press and exploit the flanks with Celtic playing wingbacks.

It worked an absolute treat, especially when you consider their second goal from the breakaway.

McGinn also mentioned Ajer as a potential lad to target.

“I think normally, we would fancy Flo against Lustig.

“We all know Lustig’s a top player, but if Flo pins somebody, he’s got them.

“So we used to try and target Flo on his side, we used to try and get the ball to him and play off that.

“It used to work at times and I think that’s something they might try and exploit with Kris Ajer as well.”

Neil Lennon was the man who brought Lustig to Scotland from Rosenborg.
