JOHN KENNEDY confirmed Neil Lennon was in touch this morning, before the Aberdeen game as his former assistant manager got set to take to the dugout.
Neil left Celtic on Wednesday and since then John has been handed the reins at Celtic Park until the end of the season.
“Yes he has been in touch this morning and sent a wee text wishing us well.” Kennedy told CELTICTV.
“Still to this day Neil and I have a very close relationship and I was gutted at the start of the week to hear the news, but we both understand there is a job to be done.”
Kennedy got his first win against Aberdeen in a drab affair at Celtic Park. The bhoys showed enthusiasm and energy in the first 45 but fell away drastically in the second.
They just did enough to see out the game in the end with a slender 1-0 win.
It gives John Kennedy a winning start and further solidifies second spot in the SPFL.
There are now only seven games left of this season and after that, we will find out what’s next for this club and who will be taking them forward.
There’s no word yet in who might be the next man to take over as permanent manager at Parkhead, with renewals coming up soon, it’s time for the club tho show their hand.
