NEIL LENNON is claiming he’ll now sit down with Peter Lawwell today to try and arrange a couple of transfers before the transfer window closes next week.

The bhoys are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements since December but the club have sat idle until now.

It’s worrying the manager is saying he’ll sit down with Peter this late in the day to try and thrash out some deals.

“We need strength and depth in the defensive area and we are working away to bring one or two in.” Lennon revealed to SunSport,

“We may look at the right-back and central defensive positions.

“I will speak to Peter Lawwell. Will we spend? We’ll see. We haven’t been immune to this pandemic.

“There might be options in the next couple of days that we don’t expect.

“But Christopher Jullien is out long term and Jeremie has gone, so we are looking at those areas.”

Preston centre-back, Ben Davies is in talks with the club over a pre-contract deal. Should Celtic land the players signature, there will be an attempt to try and bring him during this window.

Neil Lennon also claimed Frimpong’s deal and his move away was 6 weeks in the making, so why we don’t have a proper plan to replace him also speaks to the perceived amateurish of the club this season.

Celtic beat Hamilton two nil on Wednesday night to grab their first win of 2021.

The club needs to be galvanised and we need a new direction. We’re in a position where the manager right now might not be here in the summer but could have a say in transfers right now. It’s a mess.

  1. When is Neil getting transfered, either upstairs or elsewhere? New blood and new ideas needed. Really at a loss now. As we know why Celtic always have leaked good managers/players, through lack of funding or things turned stale. Neil has had three stints at Celtic. Surely enough is enough. Look to the future Neil, leave Celtic on a high, leave the support with memories in abundance. Wish the board could make up their mind for you.
