At this current time as we speak, it doesn’t look like Neil Lennon is going anywhere. He has come under heavy criticism but there appear to be no signs that he will be going any time soon. That might change within the next few days but who knows.

With that in mind, our next three games give us further release from league action playing twice in Europe against Sparta Prague and AC Milan, and a Betfred cup tie against Ross County. At the very least for these games, there has to be changes in the starting line-up.

Brendan Rodgers took a chance on an untried Ryan Christie in the League Cup semi-final and it was a move which galvanised the team and was a catalyst for change.

The players, at this time, are underperforming, for whatever reason that maybe its simply not good enough.

Players like Jeremie Frimpong, Scott Brown, Nir Bitton to name just a few are usually so reliable and key men for us. Yesterday, too many mistakes were made that resulted in us dropping points once again this season.

So come Thursday, we need to see some changes when that starting team is released an hour before kick-off. If these claims from Neil Lennon calling the players ‘lazy’ are to stand, he needs to show that when it comes to their place in the side.

Surely its time to give the likes of Hatem Elhamed or Ismilla Soro a shot in the team? Nothing else is working at the moment anyway so do these players no deserves a shot?

Ultimately, for the majority of this season, it has been extremely poor and it is clear there is something not right here. Some things more obvious than others.

With no signs that we will have a different management team for Thursday’s game, the very least that needs to happen is making changes to the team and giving others a chance, rather than sticking with underperformers at the moment.

  1. There is no hope while Lennon remains. The failure to remove him, and it should have been done in August is the single most shameful actionof any Celtic board in 30 years. They have by their inaction destroyed the Ten in a row. With every game that passes with Lennon in charge they neglect shamefully their duty of care to the club.

  2. What ever happened to ‘We’re all Neil Lennon.’ I doubt he has. Neither should we. If Neil cannot take the pressure, he would not still be here.
