NEIL LENNON has opened the door to the possibility he could bring somebody in late in the day as the transfer deadline looms.

The Celtic manager has been coy on any further signings but admits deals could crop up before the end of play today.

However, if no deals present themselves then he’s happy to go on with the squad he has and hinted at a more regular 3-5-2 line up.

Celtic have won their first four games of 2020 and are on a roll. They’ve brought two players in to this point who will not command an immediate first-team start.

Neil Lennon must have some players in mind when he talks about late deals.

A lot of supporters are holding out for Victor Wanyama but right now it looks a very long shot unless Spurs change their tune on what they want for the midfielder.

Here’s what Neil had to say at today’s press conference:

“If we don’t bring anyone else in I’m delighted with the squad and with 3-5-2 anyway you are limited to the amount of wingers you can use.” Lennon told CelticTV.

“I’m not saying that’s going to be the tried and trusted formula for us going forward but we’re playing very well with that formation.

“If someone is available we will maybe possibly look at it but at the minute there’s nothing on the horizon.

“If we can do some business, great, if we can’t do some business then great because I am really pleased with the squad of players I have got.

“We have a good squad, decent depth, and once we get a few injuries back we will be fine.

“Sometimes in the last couple of days something crops up so you have to wait and be patient. I might be sitting Friday night late on and something might happen. We are not in a panic to do anything.”

It would be great to get in another signing, somebody with experience and the quality to hit the ground running but this team is more than capable of going out and winning the league.

The window closes at 12pm on Friday.
