Celtic boss Neil Lennon has said that he believes his side can go to Ibrox and win, putting pressure on our Glasgow rivals.

As reported by Glasgow Times, current the Bhoys are 16 points but the Northern Irishman is happy with the performances he has seen in recent weeks and said after the victory against Hamilton Accies that the squad can go to Ibrox and bring the three points back to the east side of Glasgow.

“I wouldn’t make predictions about the game at Ibrox, it’s too early for that but are they capable of going there and winning? Yeah, they’ve proved in the past they can do it.

“We’ve got Dundee United first on Wednesday so it’s one step at a time. But we’re moving forward in the right direction.

“I want us to play more like that and keep creating chances. There was more flamboyance about us today. All we can do is keep putting pressure on. We have to get our own house in order before thinking about other teams. We’re starting to do that.

“I’m not saying we’ve turned a corner and there’s a long way to go. We’ve got to do the right things a lot more of the time – but we’re starting to do it better.

“That comes from application, attitude and confidence. There’s a lot more zest and fluency to the way we’re playing now. I’m delighted with that today because it could have been a very difficult game. We made it look easy which it wasn’t.”

Neil Lennon is correct, we have gone into these games in the past, under pressure and possibly not expecting to win before coming away with a result. However, looking at the performance this season, some have been left sceptical.

It really hasn’t been good enough and although we have three games in hand we find ourselves 16 points behind in the title race.

The fixture in Govan next week is such a crucial fixture and possibly the biggest across the run for 10 in a row. Coming away with a win is a must to get back on track and close the gap.
