NEIL LENNON has provided an update on his transfer plans in January without mentioning any specifics. The Celtic manager wants to keep the momentum going and freshen up as well as strengthen the squad he already has.

The manager sees the value in loan deals and the face Odsonne Edouard came in on one to begin with before Celtic splurged on the player means it’s a route he knows the Celtic board could take if the right player comes along.

“Odsonne was a bit of a slow burner in his first year on loan.” he told Sunsport.

“But in his second season he was blossoming and towards the end of last season he was fantastic. This season he’s been magnificent.

“He’s got quality and class and it’s turned out to be money well spent and that will give the board something to think about!”

The Celtic manager isn’t relying on anyone else slipping up around him to keep the title push going. There’s no time to look behind but get the head down and keep going – that’s what he will look to do in the January window.

Lenny does mention some players might be heading out of Parkhead, most likely on loan for some of the unused squad players to get some game time.

“No matter what the gap is, we will look to strengthen.

“We may look at letting a couple of players go on loan.

“We are thinking of that at the minute, allied to the volume of games.”
