NEIL LENNON has heaped more criticism on his Celtic players by suggesting some of them are looking for a big pay day and have no real interest in playing for the club anymore.

The manager even referenced his rant after the Ferencvaros where he called out the players for not wanting to be here. The Irishman told them to ‘ just go’ at the time and by Sunday, most of them were playing for the club in the SPFL.

The deterioration between the manager and the player is very evident.

Neil Lennon is in self preservation mode and is giving out excuses on why he shouldn’t lose his job. While the manager is right about some of the team, it in no way absolves him of the a large portion of the blame for this season.

In his latest comments, the manager makes it clear some of them just want the money.

“I think I made that clear after the Ferencvaros game and I don’t think things have changed that much since then.” Lennon admitted to MailSport.

“The disparity in what we can pay and what these big clubs in the UK and Europe can pay has grown.

“The excitement that Celtic brings, the chance to win trophies and compete in Europe in front of a passionate crowd is something other clubs cannot offer, but sometimes money talks and these guys want to go.

“I am not convinced, all the time, that they progress their careers, but certainly they might be financially better off.”

These players will likely go in the summer, Neil Lennon is hold out hope he’s the man to do the rebuild.

It’s clear he’s putting pandemic factors and want away stars at the heart of this seasons problems.

We now have a situation where the manager has told players who still have the rest of the season to play out that he believes they are mercenaries and he doesn’t trust them. No great management to be honest .

  1. Money over badges any day. Money talks, Bullshi7e walks Neil. Badges and supporters loving you. You can’t retire much on that. Ask any modern player in the lower leagues anywhere on the planet. All players move for money not the badge, as their careers petter out.
