Neil Lennon is poised for a comeback to football management with Romanian club Rapid Bucharest.
Nearly 19 months after his departure from Cypriot club Omonia, the former Celtic manager is finalising terms on a two-year deal worth £1.5 million.
Lennon, who previously interviewed for the Republic of Ireland and was linked with Aberdeen, found a new opportunity in Romania.
SunSport has reported that Lennon engaged in discussions with Rapid Bucharest last week and is now on the brink of being appointed as their new manager. This development comes as Lennon is set to be officially introduced following Rapid’s derby against Steaua Bucharest in their new Rapid-Giulesti Stadium.
He has been involved in the punditry side of the game as he’s been searching for jobs, and has openly expressed his desire to get back into the dugout.
He commonly appears on Sky Sports and PLZ Soccer, but that will likely come to an end now.
