Neil Lennon’s son Gallagher Lennon is in the limelight on Friday evening as he takes his place on the bench for Partick Thistle in the SPFL Trust Trophy.

He 16-year-old could see game time against Falkirk in the cup competition as he looks to follow in his father’s footsteps as a professional footballer.

SNS group posted a photo of Neil and Gallagher on the Celtic Park pitch well over a decade ago as the bhoys celebrated a title triumph. Now Gallagher is forging his own path in the game.

Neil Lennon is currently managing Cypriot side Omonoia and has already won a cup trophy since joining the club, as well as navigating them into the Europa League group stage.

Gallagher will no doubt be taking pointers from his old man who was a fantastic central midfielder in his day. We forget Neil was an integral part of the famous Martin O’Neill side. The fiery footballer was always in the thick of things and bossed the midfielder more often than not.

Seeing his son playing for a Glasgow club will certainly delight Neil.
