Celtic star Jack Hendry says he’s gutted to be missing out on Celtic’s showpiece final where they could bag a historic double treble.

The young defender who came from Dundee is unavailable to play due to being cup tied.

What makes it worse for the star is he is only ineligible due to playing a game against Inverness in the Scottish Cup under 24 hours before he became a Celt – with Neil McCann opting to play the defender even though he looked Celtic bound.

Speaking about missing the final – Hendry accepts that these things happen sometimes:

“It is a difficult one, I am Cup tied and can’t play because the day before the window closed I played against Inverness for Dundee.

“It is frustrating for myself obviously but it is about the team and hopefully they will go out and do the job.

“These things happen in football and you need to be able to get on with it. There are Cup games throughout the season and it is just one of these things that you need to deal with.

  1. He was a Dundee player, so McCann was correct to use him if he felt he needed him.
The kid was professional enough not to refuse to play.

    • I’d definitely agree if it was anyone other than McCann. Mair bitter than Denatonium, he knew exactly what he was doing.
