CELTIC PLAYER Lewis Morgan is ready to hit the ground running for the club this summer after his loan spell with St Mirren ends.

The player who signed a deal with Celtic in January was promptly loaned back out to the Buddies in order to help them win the Championship title.

The Paisley men are on course for promotion and while many will be seeking the chance to relax once it’s all said and done, Lewis doesn’t plan on missing a beat.

If St Mirren win the title quick enough, the player wants to train with his new club sooner.

“All going well the season finishes earlier for us at St Mirren so I can get in training before the end of the season and be assessed before I go away.

“Of course it’s a step up so I know I’m going to have to work hard over the summer to make sure I’m at the levels I want to be when I go in.

“I think it’s important to give myself a wee bit of downtime too. I’ll maybe not give myself as much of that as I would have before.

“I know I’ve got to go in there and impress. I’m sure the boys will be a lot superior physically compared to what most teams in Scotland are”

As an attacking midfielder, Lewis faces stiff competition at Celtic and must be at his [hysical peak to get a foot in the door during Celtic’s early season games.

The club has four Champions League qualifiers when they return from a very short close season, so everyone has to be ready!
