CELTIC won 1-0 against Aberdeen on Wednesday night in what was a dull and drab affair only lit up by David Turnbull’s 30-yard effort that hit the back of the net.

However, there was another man on the park who was showing what a leader he was during the win and that was Kristoffer Ajer.

Ajer was given the man of the match by the Celtic Pass and rightly so. The defender chased any threats down and kept it simple as Celtic managed the game.

Any long balls from Aberdeen were met by the defender and he was pushing his teammates on as well as being constantly in contact with his young defensive partner, Stephen Welsh.

Ajer is about to hit the final twelve months of his deal and from the noises made over the past year, it appears the players wants a move away from Celtic Park. If I was a decision-maker inside the boardroom, I’d be doing everything in my power to keep Kristoffer at the club and give him the captaincy for next season.

Many fans agree and believe the defender needs to stay!
