NEIL LENNON will be a busy man this summer, not only does he have to sign players ready for the here and now, he has to make sure the players he has already, stay put also.
With all the talk on Odsonne Edouard, and rightly so, we forget that there’s another man with two years left on his deal who will be of interest to many clubs if he comes into the final year of his contract at the end of next season – Ryan Christie.
The 20 goal midfielder was a revelation for the club last term, especially in the first part of the campaign. His movement, eye for a pass and goal was a significant reason the club did so well and retained the two trophies that were up for grabs.
Speaking about Ryan, the Celtic manager made it clear he wants to tie the midfielder up on a new deal. There’s more than a chance down the line Chrisite might fancy his chances in the Premier League if a club comes calling – we must be in the best position if that happens.
Stuart Armstrong was down to the last two years of his deal when he signed a one-year contract extension so the club would get a decent fee for him, which they did.
Asked about getting Ryan signed up, Neil told RecordSport: “That’s an avenue we will look to pursue. He was terrific for us last year and I’ve love to give him an extension.
