BRENDAN RODGERS has signed the likes of Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele who have been an absolute revelation since coming in.

One of the gaffers more understated and perhaps underappreciated signings is Kolo Toure. While he hasn’t had a massive say on the park, the defender’s involvement behind the scenes cannot be underestimated.

“I brought him in to get us through the Champions League group phase and then help out with others” Rodgers confessed.

“He gives Broonie some support and he loves it up here. His family have settled into life in Scotland.”

Rodgers admitted he brought the Premier League winner to Celtic Park to help him behind the scenes and has been grooming Kolo all season for a role in his backroom staff.

“He sits in on all our meetings and is gaining experience.

“In terms of all the planning we do, he’s in on that and getting an idea how you plan and prepare your work.

“That’s invaluable for him and he’s been great for me.”

While Kolo is on a short-term deal with the club Brendan is hopeful that he can sign Toure up to become a permanent coach going forward.

“Kolo and I will sit down and see what he’s thinking.

“We’ll discuss the next phase of his career soon, but I know he’s very keen on the coaching side.”
