Celtic posted an article about the day Mikael Lustig famously stole a police officers hat to celebrate Celtic’s third goal in a title-winning Glasgow Derby.

That day, Celtic went out onto the field knowing a win would secure the title and they’d do so at their Glasgow rival’s expense.

Celtic Park was witness to a 5-0 hammering of Rangers* and they took the title with ease.

It was easier than stealing a policeman’s hat off his head, you might say!

The third goal went in and Celtic knew the day was theirs, as the players ran towards the fans at the side of the pitch, at the moment, Lustig grabbed a police officers hat and wore it as he and his teammates celebrated.

The TV cameras at the time didn’t quite pick it up, however, new footage has come to light in recent days. A Celtic supporter caught the whole thing from the stands and it’s amazing.

Police Scotland weren’t happy!

  1. How he never got cautioned, I still don’t know. As he did defrock a small squirmy pig. I guess he saw the funny side of the offence. And so did the rest of the filth.
