Anyone sticking their neck out for a Celtic timeline is mad but that’s what David Friel at SunSport has done overnight.

The journalist gave an update on Ange Postecoglou and what he believes is now happening.

He writes: ‘CELTIC hope to appoint Ange Postecoglou within 48 hours — after he waved goodbye to Japan with a defeat.’

Celtic have reportedly agreed compensation with Yokohama Marinos in advance and now things look to be finally progressing.

The Hoops believe the pro licence issue is just a formality and could look to announce the new man shortly in order to get more season ticket sign ups.

Celtic dropped their season ticket campaign at the end of May hoping to have Eddie Howe installed shortly after. That fell apart almost two weeks ago and since then, Postrdoglou has been the only man in the frame.

If he is announced it will bring an end to over 100 days of abject misery for the supporters. It’s time to move on from last season and look to the future. Here’s hoping the announcement is imminent.
