Ange Postecoglou will be glad that his team are returning home for tonights League Cup tie with Raith Rovers as Celtic’s woes on the road continue. After a couple of away games, the Celts return home for the visit of Raith Rovers in the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final.

Celtic will obviously be expected to win and win well tonight but even a good win won’t lift some of the negativity already creeping into this new era at the club after a poor showing at the Tony Macaroni against Livingston at the weekend.

The Bhoys lost more ground in the league table and their Glasgow neighbours dropped points at home to Motherwell to add salt into the wounds.

Maybe tonight’s game is the perfect antidote for Celtic’s away day hoodoo as the Hoops have three home games left in September with no more trips on the road. October is a different story though but maybe a few games at home gets the team back to winning ways.

With both team sheets just released, this is how Celtic line up this evening:

Celtic fans have waited to see new striker Giakoumakis in action and tonight might be the night as the forward makes the Celtic bench. The rest of the Celtic team is a very strong lineup giving tonights opposition but nothing can be taken for granted at Celtic Football Club at the moment.

  1. McCarthy and Turnbull? They could have been swapped out for Academy prospects. I suppose Ange is giving them a chance to prove they can cut it. Another performance like Sunday and it might take a fight to get back into the team.
