According to reports elsewhere, Celtic will have to stave off competition from Newcastle I’d they’re to land too target Cameron Carter-Vickers.

The Magpies have a blank cheque book this summer but they also have a five year plan with the focus on steady to progress – it means not shelling out too much too soon on players and having a foundation of players to get them up the table and competing down the line.

SBI Nation claim CCV is high on the transfer list for Eddie Howe and they’re looking to beat the Hoops to Cameron’s signature.

The big advantage Celtic have st the moment is a first option to buy, the player seems settled enough and the massive carrot of Champions league football next season.

Ange has told CeltsAreHere and other fan media outlets the deal for the defender is going on behind the scenes and he’d like the Spurs loanee to stay.

As we know – nothing’s guaranteed. Hopefully we can get a deal done.

  1. Playing Champions League football should be a big enough lure for most players not motivated solely by money.

…on the CL, I saw a tabloid saying, without a hint of irony, that ‘now’ its watered down, by letting more teams in, it’ll benefit Celtic/Scottish teams!

…think they must’ve missed the part about it being watered down for decades to allow multiple teams from the same league enter it, leagues from countries that have large populations as thats where the advertising revenue comes from, with a rigged format that guarantees multiple teams from these leagues maintain multiple qualification places, but ironically call it a Champions League!?
