NEWCASTLE is set to sign Celtic target Garang Kuol. The Aussie attacker has just made his international debut, where he shined for his country.
The 18-year-old is currently at Central Coast Mariners in the A-League; Anthony Joesph of Sky Sports News reports that Newcastle United are close to finalising a deal for the player, beating Borussia Dortmund and Celtic to his signature.

It’s worth noting that Celtic made no official approach for the player; despite holding an interest in him. It would be borderline impossible to compete with Newcastle with the amount of funds they have available to them.
It also looks like Celtic is exploring another market which they haven’t used for a few years.
The acquisition of the player would’ve been exciting; he’s a talent that some have labelled a ‘wonder kid’. He’d come into Celtic with some great experience at the senior level, looking to break into the first team, which is already packed with quality.
It’s great to see that Celtic are constantly working behind the scenes, looking forward to the next transfer window despite the window slamming shut just a few weeks ago.
