AC MILAN have been heavily linked with a move for Kristoffer Ajer this summer but the latest news coming from Italy makes for better reading if you’re a Celtic fan.

The Italian giants have chosen to exercise their first option purchase on centre-back Simon Kjær and have announced the defender on a two-year deal from Sevilla. | Milan’s Official Website |

This means they are unlikely to splurge big cash on another centre-back this summer. Celtic fans have been debating Kristoffer Ajer’s worth to the team but there’s no doubt the player could have a big day during the ten in a row season if he sticks around.

The only way the player will leave the club is for big money. Milan could still be interested but would they be keen on paying Celtic’s asking price?

Celtic are in France ahead of a pre-season tour that kicks off Thursday. Neil Lennon’s side will be looking to get match sharp ahead of the season-opening game with Hamilton at the start of August.

The bhoys have only signed one player so far with re-signing Moi Elyounoussi on another loan deal. Hopefully, there are some more reinforcements before too long.
