There are only NINE days left of the transfer window and it’s incredible to think Celtic have still not managed to sign a right back!
Fans were certain it would be one of the first positions which would have been filled this window after failing to secure a signing in the summer. With so much spotlight on the scouting system, we were waiting to see what they had up their sleeve but it looks like it was a busted flush at this point. However, is there light at the end of the tunnel?
Reports today claimed Celtic were chasing a young 21-year-old right back from Porto with a view to bringing him in immediately. (Read more below)
Elsewhere, Celtic are trying to lighten the load of their bloated squad by trying to come to terms with the release of German defender Marvin Compper. The player admitted he was looking to leave in this window and Celtic want to make that happen, even if it means paying the player off as their’s no interest from other clubs at this point.
Celtic have been reportedly scouting Wigan midfielder Nick Powell for some time and they could be ready to make their move with the player out of contract in the summer. It’s unclear if the bhoys are serious but the player would be a bargain if the club managed to land the former Manchester Utd player.
