CELTIC have reportedly scouted little-known centre-back Jarrad Braithwaite, who currently plays for Carlisle according to Birmingham Mail.
The 17-year-old is already in their first team and has been catching many peoples eyes down south. While this will sound underwhelming to some, Celtic have a lot of youth players under the surface of the first-team bubbling over, being developed to make an impact for the senior squad when they get the chance.
Nicky Hammond’s remit is to find players, before they hit it big down south. As soon as they start playing at a decent level down south, you can forget about getting any player for a reasonable price.
Scouting the lower leagues when you have an eye for a player is the best thing you can do if you’re in Celtic shoes.
The new Celtic chief scout certainly knows his remit, unlike his predecessor who was guilty of bringing Celtic names they couldn’t afford on a regular basis.
