Reports of advanced talks between Nicolas Kuhn and RB Leipzig may have been a touch premature.

While the Bundesliga side retain strong interest in the Celtic winger, Sky Germany have indicated that discussions are not yet at an advanced stage, but the club does plan to intensify their pursuit.

“Nicolas Kühn: RB is still pursuing, intensifying their interest. Other wingers are on the list.”
Kuhn’s name has been linked with a return to his homeland after a standout first full season in green and white. The former Ajax and Bayern youngster finished the campaign with an impressive 21 goals and 15 assists across 51 matches in all competitions. His numbers were particularly eye-catching given a quieter spell in the latter half of the season.
The 24-year-old joined Celtic for £3 million in January 2024 from Rapid Vienna and has made himself a key attacking outlet in Brendan Rodgers’ side. The Hoops would expect a significant return on their investment, with a fee in the region of £15 million reportedly being discussed.
Leipzig, where Kuhn played as a youth before leaving for Ajax, are not alone in monitoring the winger, but their interest has led the speculation. However, it’s now understood that no formal offer has been made and talks, while active, are not advanced at this point.
Celtic will be keen to retain top performers heading into Champions League qualifiers, but that stance may soften if a sizeable bid is lodged.
