Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn has explained how Celtic preyed on Aberdeen’s downfall before Saturday night’s Premier Sports Cup semi-final.

The Hoops romped to a dominant 6-0 victory over the Dons at Hampden as they put on a show of footballing dominance.

There was no real contest as Cameron Carter-Vickers, Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda, and Nicolas Kuhn all got in on the act.

Several Celts stood out, with the Hoops scoring some terrific goals.

Maeda’s third was an eye-pleasing team goal, but for individual brilliance, Kuhn’s thunderous strike, which went in via the woodwork, was the pick of the bunch.

The right-winger has brought some typical German efficiency to Celtic’s play this season, proving an invaluable asset in attack.

Kuhn has hit elite heights in 2024/25 so far, scoring seven and assisting 10 across 17 appearances in all competitions.

Post-match last night, the 24-year-old explained how the Hoops preyed on Aberdeen’s downfall before yesterday’s match.

Indeed, because the Dons put so much into their impressive 2-1 victory over Rangers midweek, the Celts knew they’d be somewhat fatigued and on their knees.

“They had a week of two games,” said Kuhn (PLZ Soccer).

“It could be difficult for them as well; we knew that.

“I think we adjusted pretty well and used our chances.”

Although the Bhoys played midweek, too, they didn’t have to put as much into their game against Dundee.

Brendan Rodgers managed his squad well, and Celtic’s strength in depth has proved useful over the past few matches.

The Hoops’ attention now turns to the UEFA Champions League and RB Leipzig’s visit to Glasgow on Tuesday evening.
