It wasn’t the ideal start for Anthony Ralston at Dundee Utd last night after the team fell to 3-2 defeat against Queen of the South.

United are chasing a playoff spot in order to get back to the big time but their chances took a blow with the Tuesday night defeat.

Queen of the South took a commanding 2 goal lead in the first half before the Tannadice club fought back to make it 2-2 – the second goal courtesy of former Celtic striker Scott MacDonald.

However, there would be a sting in the tail for the young right back as QOS got their third of the evening.

Ralston was substituted on the 82nd minute as United looked for an equaliser.

The loss means the Dundee club failed to consolidate their play off position and with not many games left they must find their winning ways again quickly.
