If people were underestimating the enormity of the challenge ahead for Celtic, then they just have to look at the potential Parkhead exits which look more certain by the day.

Neil Lennon won’t be the manager come next season so that’s one large figure gone. We now look at the playing staff and there are certainties between wantaway players, guys in the last year of their contract and loan signings.

  • Lennon
  • Edouard
  • Ntcham
  • Elyounoussi
  • Ajer
  • Duffy
  • Laxalt
  • Christie
  • Elhamed

It would not surprise me in the slightest if one or two of these players leave before the January deadline. If the club gets a reasonable offer for Olivier Ntcham, they would jump to get the Frenchman off the wage bill and recoup some much needed funds.

Ryan Christie is another guy who will be entering the final year of his deal and it looks as if there will be no re-signing of a new contract. Ryan’s day Charlie has always intimated his son wants to play in the English Premier League and we believe he will pursue that.

Unless Celtic can convince Ajer with a rebuild then he’s off too.

Laxalt and Moi will certainly be off never to return. Diego started well but has faded, can put in a good tackle but on the ball, he can be very wasteful.

The less said about Duffy, the better.

Edouard staying for this season surprised us, the club will field offers for him this summer. Ahmed could be one who’s gone sooner if a bid comes in for the player.

So that’s nine who look like they won’t be here next term.

Then you have players like Barkas who the club will hope to move on. We left Scott Brown off the list, we cant envision the club just letting him go at this stage, unless they can convince him to be a youth coach.
