Nir Bitton is now officially no longer a Celtic player; his contract running out at the end of May. The midfielder said his emotional goodbyes to the Hoops fans and his teammates on title day where he and the also departing Tom Rogic carried the trophy out at Celtic Park for the presentation.

Nir had made it clear during may he didn’t have his next move lined up but would review all his options.

We had the feeling there could be a chance the player could end up back in his home country of Israel and according to sports.walla – Nir has entered into talks with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

The former Celtic star announced he has another child one the way which could altar his thinking and going back to Isreal to play his football.

Bitton served Celtic for over nine years with so many ups and downs during that time. The player certainly did his part this season to help secure the title under Ange Postecoglou.

We wish Nir nothing but the best for his future and hope he gets a new club sorted soon.
