Nir Bitton has had a cheeky dig at the Ibrox club after completing his move to Maccabi Tel-Aviv.

The midfielder left Paradise this summer after winning eight League Titles, four Scottish Cups and six League Cups. He was also part of the invincible treble-winning side under Brendan Rodgers. It’s fair to say he had a fairly successful time at Paradise.

Taking to Instagram to comment on his move back to Isreal, the midfielder claimed Celtic were the biggest in Scotland, and one of the biggest in Europe, writing;

After 9 successful years at Celtic, the biggest club in Scotland and one of the biggest in the British Isles and Europe, I am returning home – to the biggest club in Israel.”

He’ll have a few fans from across the city upset about that comment.

Celtic are the biggest team in Scotland.

There’s no doubting Celtic is the biggest team in Scotland; they’re one of the biggest in the world.

Celtic is a well-known club worldwide; everyone knows who Celtic are.

The Ibrox fans can kid themselves on about how they think they’re more prominent, but as Bitton put it, Celtic are the biggest club in Scotland and one of the biggest in the British Isles and Europe.
