The Dail Mail have inexplicably dropped one of the most bizarre transfer rumours of the year and we’re not even into transfer window season.

The paper claims Spurs are tracking Celtic’s rarely played Ismaila Soro in what has to be a wind-up.

The club that deals in multimillion-pound deals are apparently going to try and cut a deal with Celtic to bring their fringe midfielder to the club. Aye, right!

We love a good transfer rumour but why Spurs scouts would be anywhere near Celtic’s squad players just doesn’t make sense.

Anyone reporting this with a straight face should have a word with themselves.

Soro has made 20 appearances for Celtic this season, many from off the bench and he was discarded by Neil Lennon and John Kennedy to allow Scott Brown back in the team.

Next season could be a big one for him at Parkhead, only if he’s not pushing for a top four finish with Spurs.

It would be great to see the midfielder get the last few games of the campaign but we fear it’s a Scott Brown farewell tour.

Ismaila has potential but we haven’t seen what he can do on a consistent basis because of the chopping and changing.

Hoepfully a new manager sees the player’s potential and gives him a shot.
