BRENDAN RODGERS spoke last week, just before the window closed about moving certain players on.

The Irishman always tells his players his line of communication is open and if they want to talk or vice versa then the manager will sit down with any single member of his squad.

It’s the type of man management that has made Brendan Rodgers a success in the game to this point.

While some managers may skirt around the issue of telling players where they exactly stand in the pecking order – the Irishman has no such problems and when he spoke of getting his squad size down he was clear he’s told several Celtic players they won’t be getting any game time.

While Rodgrs is right not to name anybody specifically, it’s clear to see at least two members of the squad who have been subject to a Rodgers conversation which urged them to find a new club before the window closed.

Speaking then, Rodgers wanted to see movement but conceded some people are happy to sit on their contracts.

“There are some players that know exactly where they stand in terms of their future, they’re not going to get games but they’re sat on a contract and of course, it’s within their rights to do what they need to do.”

Marvin Compper has to be one of the players the Celtic manager has told he has no future at the club.

Between injuries and perhaps attitude the Celtic boss sees no value in a player Celtic brought in back in January.

Another player would be Scott Allan, who can’t make it anywhere near the first team squad on matchday.

Both are sitting on very nice deals at Celtic Park and it would be difficult to see any clubs matching those wages.

Marvin Compper publicly said this week that he wants to stay with Celtic – perhaps he is publicly digging his heels in as he sits on his contract.

  1. Again we need the dead wood out and new faces in place before January we should only keep players that want to play and not just sit on there ass taking there Pay we could move out five or six and bring in two top seasoned pros a CH and a MF players that would send the message out to SG we are not stopping and you will need another new team next season if you spend ten million then we spend twice as much on better players.
Bring it on we will be ready………

  2. If you signed a deal in the knowledge that the club wanted You in the first place. Then you should expect them to honour the deal ,even if things have not turned out for you. They may have a family to support.
