Celtic face St Mirren tonight in the Cinch Premiership from 19:45 at Celtic Park. The Hoops are unbeaten in 19 home league games (W16 D3), winning each of their last seven in a row. The last side to win away at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership were St. Mirren in January 2021, recording a 2-1 win.

There is no denying that the football on display since obliterating The Rangers and Motherwell at the start of February has dipped. The Bhoys have still been picking up points and only dropped their first points at the weekend against Hibs at Easterroad in a bore draw.

Celtic fans will be looking for some kind of response from that poor performance the weekend.

Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis was rated 50/50 during the week after the Greek forward missed the weekend game with a mild illness.

Mikey Johnston, David Turnbull and Kyogo Furuhashi all remain out for the current league leaders.

With the teams just released this is the Celtic team for tonight:

So still no Giakoumakis in the matchday squad, I must be honest and admit I thought the 50/50 comment was a smokescreen. It’s pretty much as you were with O’Reilly replacing Rogic from the start.

Celtic have won 14 of their last 15 home league meetings with St. Mirren, losing the other 1-2 in January 2021 but St. Mirren have failed to score in each of their last three league matches against Celtic.
