Some supporters have been calling for Greg Taylor to play in the semi-final of the League Cup against Hibernian on Saturday after his solid debut against St Mirren on Wednesday night but it’s an impossibility.

The player is cup tied for the game having played for Kilmarnock in the competition earlier in the season.

Taylor finally got to introduce himself to the Celtic support and put in a solid shift in his first outing. The player coming in meant Bolingoli got the night off and will be fresh for the Hibernian game. The next match Taylor will be eligible for is Lazio away but we don’t see Neil Lennon throwing the defender into that particular game. The home game against Motherwell after the Europa League tie in Italy could be his next chance to impress depending on the situation.

Celtic are currently fighting on three fronts before the turn of the year and having Taylor in reserve will prove valuable.
