There will be no last-minute transfer surprises for Celtic ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League qualifying tie, Ange Postecoglou confirms.

Speaking in his press conference before the game against FC Midtjylland, the 55-year old Celtic boss confirmed that there would be no last-minute additions to the Champions League squad, which the club announced earlier, jokingly saying, it would be a ‘miracle to see that happen within the next 24 hours.

When asked about possible wildcard additions to his squad, Postecoglou said, “In the next 24 hours? No, I’d love to, but that’s not a wildcard; that’s a miracle card. None of those exist at the moment.

“The squad list we’ve announced is the one that’ll go into this game & this fixture.”

Whilst not many fans were expecting that to be the case, there was some hope last week we would at least see some form of additions with the squad currently lacking options in several areas.

Now that Ange has confirmed that won’t be the case, the focus will have gone into those currently at the club and preparing them for a tough task on Tuesday night.

The players will have the slight boost of 9000 returning Hoops fans inside Celtic Park tomorrow night, but a big performance is needed in the first competitive game under the new boss.
