With Celtic six points clear at the top of the table, it would be easy for some players to take their foot off the gas. However, Postecoglou believes this isn’t the case in his squad.

Celtic extended their lead at the top with a Glasgow Derby win last Sunday, but they mustn’t be complacent heading into the season’s final six games. This starts on Saturday when the side faces St Johnstone.

The league isn’t mathematically over; therefore, there is a chance that second place could sneak up on Celtic. With eighteen points to play for, Celtic are four wins and a draw away from securing the title.

Postecoglou has remarked that if any players believed that the job is done, it would be evident in training, and they wouldn’t be selected for the matchday squads. However, this isn’t the case with the full squad training hard to get some game time.

Speaking to Celtic TV, the Celtic manager said;

“I’ve got 24/25 guys who are desperate to play and desperate to be involved, desperate to contribute. You can’t roll up to this training and think there is any job done. The training won’t allow it.

“The players themselves won’t allow it. They are pushing their limits every day. We want to be playing our best kind of football at this time of the year. That’s our aim, and that’s our ambition. If that thinking creeps into anybody, they’ll get left behind.”

“No one is doing that”

Ange will not allow complacency, if there’s any points dropped between now and the end of the season it won’t happen because the bhoys think this league is over.
