Sead Haksabanovic, Stephen Welsh, Anthony Ralston and James McCarthy are all back on the training field and working on their fitness to get back into the squad.

However, there was still one big omission from Lennoxtown training; Celtic left-back Greg Taylor.

The defender was injured during the 2-2 draw at Ibrox a couple of weeks back and is still expected to be out until nearer February. Ange did say he would be a few weeks away at the beginning of January, but you can never be quite sure with Ange. When it comes to the fitness of his players, he always leaves people guessing.

Greg’s last action of the game at Ibrox was to give Alfredo Morelos a piece of his mind – something that went down very well with the Celtic support.

Greg has been massive for Celtic this season. Even in the Ibrox game, you could see the difference in Celtic’s ability to play when Greg came off the pitch.

Hopefully, the Celtic star doesn’t miss too much more time. He could be on for Celtic player of the year if he gets back quick enough and continues the form he’s been in this season.

The improvement in Greg since Age came through the door is truly remarkable.
