Celtic and Norwich might have been billed as a friendly, however, like most pre-season games this year, there was a competitive edge to proceedings.
The bhoys won 2-0 at Celtic Park on the day and deserved their victory. Norwich who are well into their pre-season also failed to really hurt Celtic despite putting in a good effort.
Goals from Daizen Maeda and David Turnbull won the day. David famously turned down Norwich to sign for Celtic before a medical scuppered the Hoops deal. The midfielder would sign for Celtic a season later.
Celtic finished off their pre-season with the victory and have set themselves up nicely for the start of the SPFL campaign.
After the match, despite the loss, Norwich thanks Celtic for the ‘competitive’ game.
Norwich have the unenviable task of trying to get out of the Championship. Celtic have a league to retain and are looking forward to their first jaunt into the Champions League in fiver years.
It will be an interesting season for both clubs. While they didn’t get the win today, we wish Teemu Pukki and the rest of his teammates all the best for the season.
