CELTIC have got their transfer business done efficiently since Ange Postecoglou walked through the door at Celtic Park.

As transfer rumours start to emerge, it’s only a couple of days before they’re pictured on Celtic’s social media with a scarf above their head.

Ange Postecoglou puts it down to finding the right people as well as the right footballers, people that want to play for Celtic and want to play the style of football Ange’s team plays, which requires hard, intense training every day.

Postecoglou has also said that the club doesn’t have to convince players to join, and he finds it straightforward to get the sense if they’re eager to join Celtic, and take a big step in their careers.

Ange Postecoglou said: [Mail Plus]

‘For me, it’s not just about the player we bring in, it’s about the person. Their human qualities are just as  important.

‘People mention how quickly we’ve done our transfer business but a big reason for that is we get players who really want to come here.

‘We don’t have to do too much convincing. They’re not coming here for the money or any other reason except an opportunity to play at a big club and take the next step in their career.

‘That’s part of the conversation I have with them. I get a sense pretty quickly if they’re hungry to come here for the right reasons. If they are, I know I’m getting the right type of person.

‘These guys come in and no day or minute is wasted. Training every day is really intense. The players can’t come in here and try to cruise through because they’ll get found out straight away and they’ll lose their position.

‘Our squad is the strongest it’s been since I arrived at the club. We have healthy   competition. It’s not about anyone wanting others to fail, it’s about wanting everyone to succeed and push each other to the  next level.

‘That starts with Callum (McGregor), Joe Hart and the senior players setting the benchmark with their work ethic.

‘Everyone else falls into that line. That’s how you make them relentless. There’s not a minute when they’re under our charge that they can sit and be comfortable.’

Whenever a saga draws on, fans get the sense that a deal won’t be done, like the Cho Gue-sung transfer. But, as demonstrated with O’Riley and Oh, Postecoglou has another player just as good that the club can turn their attention to.
