Ange Postecoglou has been handed a further injury blow, with January signing Yosuke Ideguchi set to be missing from action after sustaining an injury in Saturday’s victory over Alloa Athletic.

The midfielder was on the end of a dreadful tackle by an Alloa midfielder, which somehow only ended up being a caution by referee Don Robertson.

Despite early indications from Ange Postecoglou that the injury is not as bad as first feared, the Celtic boss has today confirmed that the 25-year old hasn’t come out too well from the challenge and is likely to miss the next few games.

“Not great. I think I said after the game that it didn’t look too serious but I didn’t really get a good look at him.” he said, speaking to Celtic TV.

“It was a terrible tackle and one that should’ve been addressed by the referee on the day. He hasn’t come out of it too well and he’ll be missing for a little bit. He’s still pretty painful.”

The injury list continues to pile up for Postecoglou and his squad, who haven’t been able to catch a break this season with the number of players in the medical room.

Going into Wednesday night’s game, it is almost certain at this point that we will see a debut for new midfielder Matt O’Riley, alongside the likes of Reo Hatate and Nir Bitton.

Although far from ideal, Postecoglou will now likely be delighted that he has dived back into the market this window and made more additions in the midfield area to his squad.
