NEIL LENNON has confirmed he is still in the market for another centre back after bringing in Christopher Jullien two weeks ago on a big money deal.

The Frenchman hasn’t featured for the bhoys yet with the Celtic manager also confirming the Christopher is not up to speed yet in terms of being able to play competitively.

This is why a debut against Rennes may be the ideal chance for the player to get some game time without having the pressure of a competitive match.

Lennon explains the situation as to why Bitton started in Sarajevo, why Jullien didn’t feature and that he is indeed in the market for another centre back.

“Nir can play at the back, but it’s not ideal” he told RecordSport.

“Christopher isn’t up to speed yet, and we are still looking to strengthen there, too.”

Celtic lose the pairing of Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic from the last campaign and have to rebuild their defence accordingly. It’s no surprise Neil Lennon believes he needs another centre back. Jozo Simunovic is prone to injury and will likely not be available for any games on artificial surfaces.
