Neil Lennon returned to Celtic management with a bang in terms of opposition fixtures. Straight back to a horror ground that is Tynecastle, followed by a short walk over to his old employers at Easter Road before returning to Celtic Park to face an in-form Aberdeen.

Lennon has pass marks for his first three games. The result at Tynecastle went to the wire but it was a fantastic 3 points. The Hoops were more impressive at Easter Road to book a semi-final place at Hampden. Then they seemed to take a step backwards at home against Aberdeen last week.

Luckily Lennon has recognised that and he plans to do something about it. A lot of commentaries have been made about John Kennedy still making the calls with team selection but we doubt Neil Lennon is not making the final call on everything when it comes to tactics and picking his team.

Lennon has vowed to get a killer instinct into Celtic’s final third. The firepower is certainly within the team, for some reason players look out of ideas at the most important part of their build-up play.

Speaking with Celtic TV pre-match Lennon said:

“We weren’t really in that much difficulty but – going forward – we lacked that urgency in the final third. “We’ve had a little chat with them, looked at some things we could do a little bit better and hopefully we will see more of the Celtic team that we know on Sunday.

“More importantly, not only am I looking for the win but the performance to match that as well. “We have tried to reinforce that this week.”

Exactly what those changes are will remain to be seeing. The return of players like Callum McGregor & Tom Rogic will be sure to help the Celts bring their attacking play back to life.
