BRENDAN RODGERS was asked about Celtic midfielder Scott Allan who recently was a make way for the club to sign Scott Bain in a somewhat convoluted deadline day deal.
The well travelled midfielder is enjoying another spell at Hibernian, however, if you’re a Celtic fan who wants to see Scott challenge for a place in the Celtic team then Brendan Rodgers comments are very telling.
“I watched the Rangers v Hibs game the other day and thought that Scott played really well in it,”
“Sometimes there are players who are just suited to a certain club and when I look at Scotty he seems right at Hibs.”
If you’re in the Scott Allan camp you can dismiss these comments as Rodgers giving him kudos for his recent run of form – but it’s what he’s not saying is the big tell.
The Irishman is basically saying, he’s alright over here but just not for us. Scott will likely move on in the summer having had little chance to impress at Celtic Park.
I hope he doesn’t move on as he is still a young player an can improve…
