Nottingham Forest are reportedly targeting Celtic’s highly-rated youngster Dara Jikiemi as they look to strengthen their youth ranks ahead of the summer.
Nottingham Forest is a club on the up, and after beating Spurs on Monday night, has firmly set their sights on Champions League football next term.
The 15-year-old centre-back has already made waves at youth level, not just at Celtic but on the international stage, where he has captained Scotland’s Under-15 side.
Jikiemi’s leadership qualities and composed performances at the heart of defence have marked him out as one of the most promising prospects in the Scottish game. His potential has not gone unnoticed south of the border, with Forest now setting their sights on luring him to England.
According to reports from Football Insider, the Premier League outfit are keen to bring Jikiemi into their setup this summer, hoping to tempt him away from Celtic’s development system with the promise of a move to England.
Celtic have seen several of their top academy talents move on to English clubs in recent years before breaking into the first team, and there is a growing concern among supporters that another promising starlet could slip through their hands.
He does seem to be a good prospect, so hopefully Celtic can keep their hands on him.
