Veteran pundit Hugh Keevins has slammed the abilities of wingers Luis Palma and Hyunjun Yang after their uninspiring starts in Celtic’s 2-0 win over Dundee on Wednesday night.

Both players were given the nod in the lineup on Wednesday night—Yang making his first start of the season and Palma his first in the league. However, Keevins believes they fell short of the standard expected at Celtic, particularly when compared to teammates Nicolas Kuhn and Daizen Maeda.

On Clyde1 Superscoreboard, Keevins made his opinion clear: “He (Yang) isn’t up to playing for Celtic, I am sorry.

“And neither is Palma. When you see Nicolas Kuhn, and Maeda and the contributions they make. “Yang and Luis Palma are not at that level. Nowhere near it.”

Kuhn, who was sidelined with a hip injury, is expected to return for the League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen, while Maeda, who was given a rest, came on in the second half against Dundee to add some extra energy to Celtic’s attack.

Palma and Yang’s lacklustre displays show a need for more depth to be added on the wings.

While both have had limited opportunities, they’ve failed to impress this season.

There’s probably a case for Yang to head out on loan and develop that way, but patience is running thin with Palma, and it might be best for him to find a permanent move away. There is quality there, but he just can’t crack it at Celtic.

  1. I really can’t believe that your running with an article by this Person,he never ever gives Celtic a positive mention or tries to see something that we’re doing right, and him to mention this about Celtic, proves my point He is the Gerry McNee of Today

  2. He is always quick to hate on Celtic but when you are wrong 99% of the time, that means there is the 1% of times he is right and this is that rare moment.

Yang is not going to make it. Much better players than him didn’t make it at Celtic.
Palma in his first couple of appearances looked like he was a baller but now looks plain ordinary. To be fair he has been sidelined for so long and maybe needs to get some runs in games where we have it in the bag already

  3. Both not up to Celtic standard maybe better to move them on come jan 25 we need fast wingers who also can help our fullbacks defend those 2 not up to it you win some you lose some let them go on loan or sell them same with our centre Half’s don’t need 5 .
