Neil Lennon very understandably wants to draw a line under the Nctham remarks he made a few weeks back to a French magazine L’Équipe about wanting to leave Celtic.

According to Lennon himself and Ntcham have had a private chat, both parties have given their side of the argument and both parties are happy to start with a clean slate.

Lennon has told Football Scotland that the reports misinterpreted the player’s words and stitched him up.

“I spoke to Olivier on Monday so that’s all resolved, He was disappointed with the way his comments came across in the French media and said the journalist concerned had phoned him to apologise.”

“He gave me his side of it and we gave him our side of it and the slate is wiped clean.”

Lennon is a die-hard Celtic man who would have put it all on the line for Celtic as a player and manager, he will recruit and play players with the same kind of mentality. Players who are willing to throw in the hard miles against every opposition week in and week out.

Oliver may say the reporter apologised for mixing his words but the midfielder was posted missing in all but one game last season. His body language was not that of a player who wanted to wear the Hoops. He allegedly threw his toys out of the pram after not getting a move away to Portugal last season. That accusation was certainly backed up in his performances in a Celtic jersey.

The only way the player will prove to Celtic fans that his comments were taken out of context is on the pitch. We had a similar situation last season with Boyata, the defender looked all but done for the season but put his head down and gave the team 100%. Will Ntcham show the fans the same respect and do the same?
